Michael Phelps: Struggling to stay motivated.
One wears suits and ties by Armani in fancy restaurants world over, the other wears hoodies and beanies at a poker table. One of them keeps their private life as private as possible by training in seclusion and occasionally even living in seclusion, the other shows up in Vegas and is moderately accessible.
One will be attending a Royal wedding, the other opens pools and trade shows in Vegas, baby!
To see both struggling athletes go at it will be the highlight of the Olympics. If Thorpe races him in the 100-free or 200-free, I have to say the one with the most emotion will win.
You all ready know who my favorite is.
P.S. How about those fake...er...fake tans?
BEST POST EVAH! You said exactly what I've been thinking but added a tinge of Las Vegas trash!
ReplyDeleteComing from the number one swim blogger, I am very flattered.
ReplyDeleteMe toooo.. they are both such great athletes. But I fear that it may be a disappointing let down - pundits do not really seem to rate Thorpe's chances that highly. Phelps has been swimming and training well, however. And of course, someone else could come along. However, it's a great story as you highlighted; these two very different men.
ReplyDeleteOne of them is sort of classy, the other one is sort of "crassy." ;-)
ReplyDeleteIs it true that he was paid $100000 to be there?
ReplyDeleteWas paid $100,000 for the French ETF Meet.
ReplyDeleteno such thing as a 'fake' tan in vegas.
ReplyDeletei thought "what happens in vegas, sayed in vegas."
Look at them! They are painted inside and out and they make Phelps look as white as a fish belly.
ReplyDeletephelps is part fish belly, and part pothead ...maybe that explains his lack of motivation. lol
ReplyDeleteWell, I don't know what is registered or not registered, but the 2011 annual report does show a certain Peter Malone as a director. Now where have I read about him before?
ReplyDeleteAre you talking about ASCA and my Leonard knockout?
