And he...Haha, I've seen that quote everywhere. And he better admit it - it's common truth. The consensus seems to be that Phelps will get his mojo back in time for London and scrape something together to be somewhat successful (relays anyone?). I think you are reading way too much between the lines!

And he is on the Worlds team. What's done is done in that department.David Riederhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00037990522293462619noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37388994.post-40605115443292580972010-12-23T10:28:20.757-08:002010-12-23T10:28:20.757-08:00David, you are the most amazing swim journalist I ...David, you are the most amazing swim journalist I know; even a swim editor is in awe of you but you are wrong.

Here is a recent quote from Bowman:

"Obviously, Ryan Lochte is the best swimmer in the world this year. No question," Phelps' coach Bob Bowman said. "That will be a huge challenge for Michael going forward, hopefully a motivator."

Read between the lines: "...hopefully a motivator?"

Hopefully?

If your own coach does not know if you are motivated enough to be the best then where is Phelps' motivation at this point?

this quote is 13-hours old from SuperSport.com

http://supersport.com/aquatics/international-news/news/101223/Swimming_in_2010Tony Austinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00109365938555421509noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37388994.post-33739640108144629962010-12-23T10:17:57.157-08:002010-12-23T10:17:57.157-08:00Pretty sure Phelps is already committed to World C...Pretty sure Phelps is already committed to World Champs. Team was selected in Irvine this summer. I still find it very difficult to believe he won't show up to these biggest meets. USA Swimming might even put some pressure on him, because we are huge favorites in all three relays if he is there.David Riederhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00037990522293462619noreply@blogger.com
