World Champion, Larisa Ilchenko, takes gold in the women's 10-kilometer marathon swim

What a rush that must be swimming towards the elevated bulkhead and knowing that gold is imminent. Wish I could have seen it! [Link]

Ooops: Forgot the brits, (shame on me), who placed second and third: "... Keri-Anne Payne of Great Britain, with a time of 1:59:29.2. In bronze position was Payne's teammate, Cassandra Patten, finishing at 1:59:31.9. ..."

Great Britain is coming out of nowhere lately in open water events!!!

Kudos to the South African woman that placed 16th. The only amputee to compete in these Olympics....?

Come on - don't forget the Brits! A silver and a bronze in the womens and a silver in the mens 10k. Almost better than we did in the pool!
