Don Schollander - First To Win Multiple Swimming Golds - Tokyo 1964 Olympics

Don has a great stroke but the start dives back in that day looked very... What is the word? - Yes, the word is theatrical the same way a "triple-take" with rotating head and overly surprised look as seen in farcical comedies.

Love the girl in the stands trying to look dignified while holding back tears. Carpe Diem, girl! (Click that link now!)

ERROR - Mixed up [Richard] Shoulberg with Don Schollander - I thank an anonymous poster for pointing out this egregious error. Here is the former text as reference to the error: I wish him well and I hope that his administrative leave from Germantown Academy is a temporary exile only and that nothing sinister or the more usual swim "poolitics" was involved.

That girl is two-time Olympic gold medalist Cathy Ferguson.

Thanks anonymous, see is quite a looker too. HEre wiki page states the following:

"...Cathy Jean Ferguson (born July 22, 1948) is an American former competition swimmer, Olympic champion, and former world record-holder. She competed at the 1964 Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan, where she received the gold medal for winning the women's 100-meter backstroke, and another gold as a member of the first-place U.S. team in the women's 4x100-meter medley relay..."

Thank you for adding terrific equity to this post.

Are you confusing Shollander and Shoulberg? If you're not, this post makes no sense to me whatsoever.

Yes I did confused the two and I corrected the post by admitting the error and thanking you for the catch.

The erroneous text in question still remains and has been grayed-out & crossed-out rather than deleted and pretending the error never happened.

Additionally, it's Dick Shoulberg, not Don. Yowza all around!

I am so embarrassed by this post that I want to delete it... but I won't. I will keep it up as a "shame reminder" to be more thorough.
