Rob interviews Glenn Mills of GoSwim.tv - here was my favorite question:

Any waterproof camera recommendations for the aspiring amateur swimming film maker? Personally I really want to know what my stroke looks like underwater!

There are SO many great little underwater cams these days, it’s silly for a coach or serious swimmer not to have one. If you have a digital cam, it should be waterproof. Pentax has the W60 and now W80, which are 10-12 megapixels still, and HD video at either 15 or 30 frames per second. We’re talking just a bit over $200. Olympus has a great digital underwater cam as well as Sharp. Depending on your budget, I’m pretty sure you can grab a digital underwater cam for as low as $150.

Master Rob knows "swim-fu" - An open letter to Craig Lord!

Hey, I just found out that Craig Lord does not approve of speedsuits! - Who knew? ;-) [That was sarcasm as they say.]

Rob of Robaquatics has written an open letter to Craig Lord, but let me tell you a little about Rob first: Now, here is a guy who Craig Lord would describe as being in a "...minority [who] take it very seriously indeed and vanity, disposable income and time-on-[his]-hands all play a part..."

Well, that shows Rob and his little dog too, huh?

This is a snippet of his open letter to Craig clarifying his "vanity":

"... I could go on and on, but here is the basic point to my little rant... Masters is a vibrant organization that has thousands of swimmers that are focused on swimming fast because they love it, not because they're vain or have some kind of secret tech suit spreading agenda. If you really have strong feelings for the sport of swimming you wouldn't attack an organization that provides opportunities for people to extend their love affair with swimming into their 90's and beyond. Also don't flame bait our community just for traffic. The article today is going to cause even more confusion and speculation around the suit issue that we don't need.

FOX News interviews Jason Lezak regarding his lack of sponsors!

In my opinion this interview was ill advised and if I was his sports agent, I would be humiliated at how ineffectual I was in getting him contracts. The Newsweek article is one thing since it showcase what he has accomplished and where he wants to go rather than how much help he needs. Also, the readership is more suited to that sort of news rather than FOX news.

'TYR Tracer Light' Review: Rob of Robaquatics takes the 'Tracer Light' for a spin!

Rob goes to the Cal Tech Masters Pentathlon with his new suit and nails each event; both figuratively and literally, in style.

This weekend was the first outing for my TYR Tracer Light. Overall I am very impressed with the suit and I had a great day in the pool with it. I swam 5 events and walked away with 5 best times - one by as much as 4 seconds! All told a pretty successful outing. I swam every stroke in it so I can vouch for it across all four competitive strokes

I had to put the You Tube in; Poor Rob was swimming in the gutter in a very narrow pool but it looks to me that he did a low 26.00 in the 50-free. Not to shabby.

'Robaquatics' has entered the building!

I was at the UCLA short course meters race a month or so ago and I noticed a swimmer there wearing a pork-pie-hat. I also noticed that he wasn't sitting with anybody. Then I thought to myself, who is that be-bop hipster swimmer over there and who does he swim with? Turns out he belongs to an aquatics club so exclusive that he is the only member! The club is called "RobAquatics" but it is pronounced "unattached."

Rob is having a blast attending masters swimming meets all over creation and he's got a camera and laptop too. I am adding him to my link list because I like reading about the exuberance he has for masters swimming. Check him out here: [Link]
