Germany is taking hyper responsibility for the former East German Republic's sordid history of doping its athletes; (in many cases secretly), in the 1970s and 1980's. From the Eurosport article:- "... Germany's head coach, Orjan Madsen, said the swimmers had even agreed to freeze blood samples that could be tested in the future as part of a drastic measure to prove they were clean. ..."
Germany wants the world to know that hard work, altitude training, and really good masking agents, do the trick. (I am so bad but I do stink of good, huh?)

Swam for Orjan for a while - he is tough, but very direct and honest. You never know in any country what some of the swimmers are up to, because they all train in their clubs / colleges, but the Germans are on the right track to do everything possible to field a clean team.
