Lane 9 News is reporting that Aaron Perisol and "July Playmate" Amanda Beard will skip US Nationals in Indianapolis this August and swim in the French Open EDF (Go to the site, it has amazing photos.)Here is a link to what the pool looks like: [Link]
Lane 9 does not give a motive and I can't figure it out why either. Could it be to swim against or intimidate international swimmers? I don't know. They suggest other swimmers may skip nationals as well. Lane 9 News article: [Link]

It could be money? There are hearty prizes for top performances.
Let's see now, Indianapolis on one hand and Paris, France on the other. Gee, I'm as confused as you are why anyone would pick Paris over Indianapolis... then again France Open EDF might well be giving out appearance money too. But who would take money over the chance to visit the state of Indiana?
ROTFL! Perisol is going for the bottle of red and the Parisian locals.
But Amanda has an added problem such as getting her ass handed to her by a bunch of college students here versus getting beat over there and not having it reported in Sports Illustrated.
In Europe she looks more credible and it will be less broadcasted.
Let's see who else goes to France.
As I said in a previous comment - it is definitely about the money - Almost $26,000 if either swimmer can pull out an amazing performance.
With that said, though, you'd be surprised that while we probably won't see every major outlet broadcasting the Paris meet here in the states, in France it'll be much bigger than the Nationals will be here.
