FINA Marathon Swimming World Cup results

FINA Marathon Swimming World Cup was held this weekend in Sevilla, Spain. Germany and Russia apparently own open water swimming. See top ten results at Lane 9 News: [Link]

According to my calculations, the top guy went about 1:07/100M for the 10K. Ouch! (I'm not a math whiz, though, so I may be wrong.)

And congratulations on the Alcatraz swim. Glad you escaped.

I liked what you had to say so much i posted it twice.

That speed is nearly incomprehensible. I swim something like a 1:08 going all out for a single 100 meters and these guy did it 30 times in a row! Sheesh!

Actually they do it 100x in a row. But the open water distance measurements are not very precise.

I would guess that the top distance swimmers can hold about 1:02-1:03 for 1 hour - long-course....
