'Lane 9 News' article regarding WADA: '2008 Prohibited Substance List'

'Lane 9 News' has a brief overview and a link to the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) 2008 Prohibited Substance List. [Link]

I downloaded the WADA PDF and one thing I noticed that was added to the list is Gene Doping defined as "... The non-therapeutic use of cells, genes, genetic elements, or of the modulation of gene expression, having the capacity to enhance athletic performance, is prohibited. ..."

If gene doping is on the list then some athlete or athletes are probably doing it. Most likely using a therapy called, Repoxygen™ by Oxford BioMedica. The Repoxygen™ process alters your body so as to create EPO and therefore combat anemia. It also delivers more oxygen to your heart: [Link]

After reviewing the pdf of banned substances it seems I've taken something that shows up on the list. In a regiment of some medications and physical therapy I have taken dehydrochlormethyltestosterone (4-chloro-17β-hydroxy-17α-methylandrosta-
1,4-dien-3-one . I'm not a bad person I was trying to heal from an injury. I check the various things I was taken over a year ago and this one was on the list of banned substances. Good thing I am not a serious athlete.

You're fine if you are a masters swimmer. If not, here is the procedure. If you need a steroid of some kind due to a health condition, you send a medical form to FINA to validate it is for a medical condition and they obviously allow it.
