Regarding the rumor that 'Nike' is interested in 'blueseventy.'

There is this rumor floating around at Olympic trials that Nike is interested in blueseventy - it centers around the fact that a friendly dinner took place between executives from both companies and that a Nike athlete or athletes[?] have worn their suit[s]. This friendly dinner has seemingly been construed as a deal. There is no more evidence than that.

That makes a lot of sense. Nike is a company with very deep pockets, and Blueseventy has a suit which has generated a lot of buzz. Nike doesn't seem to have made any moves towards developing their own competitive suit yet, and this would put them right back in the thick of things in the swimsuit market. Speedo is very vulnerable right now with all the talk about how their suits are only good for three or four wears and the fact that Phelps, one of their chief representatives, seems to prefer just their leggings after his experience with his LAZR filling up, and the fact that both Piersol and Hansen, even though they wore LAZRs, also seem to prefer just the leggings. If Nike can market a suit which costs significantly less and lasts for twenty-five or more wears, they'll win the battle of the masses, even if the Olympic level swimmers still stick with Speedo.

I think more than one company is looking closer at blueseventy. Neither Arena, nor Adidas have any swimsuit to compete either.
Blueseventy's suit costs half of the LAZR and lasts for quite a few uses. I at least had mine for a couple months now and almost 20 uses.

Speedsuits are not money makers for suit manufacturers. R&D is a huge expense and it is an expense that must be taken every two years if the company wants to keep up.

The purpose of speedsuits is branding and/or medals. A successful speedsut line perhaps breaks even.

not likely... Roque Santos (BlueSeventy's main pitch man), was fired by Nike in the last year.

I don't think it is likely either.
