My guess is Crocker did that for his own psychological advantage. Perhaps he was thinking if I can go this fast wearing jammers, I’m going to go much faster wearing a Speedo LZR.
On the other hand, maybe he’ll just wear jammers for the final giving a clear message to everybody that he can swim fast without the special suit- now that would be quite the psych-out.
