Very excited to have Garrett on board. Should be fun to see what we can put together with a guy who has that much energy and passion for the sport.

My biggest hope is that the comments section is allowed to blossom into the entertaining stew that it was at floswimming. minus the haters, of course...

One must pity poor Screaming Viking, who impossibly yearns for troll-free commentary. Unfortunately the internet is not Valhalla but an arena where unworthy cowards of impure thoughts and selfish acts can enter at will. I, however, eagerly second his hope Garrett can bring his magic into play at Swimming World. A great move on their part.

Well all the commenting will be under real names now. Which actually kinda sucks because then I won't be able to talk trash anonymously about my own blogs anymore.

You'll always have SCAQ. I even post insults towards me.

We had a fairly long internal debate about the comment field being non-anonymous. We have actually been talking about it since last year.

It really got to the point where people were using the platform we provide to the largest swimming audience out there to basically do hitman piece comments without having to worry about retribution.

While we may lose some numbers here and there by eliminating anonymity, we okay with that. Not sure we want the extra numbers gained by two anonymous people attacking each other and those that come just to watch the blog fight.

We truly believe that creating great content will eliminate the worries from that in the end.

Garrett has some great ideas, and is ready to take SwimmingWorld.TV to another level (I think that has to be his catchphrase).

Going to be fun as we work to develop a thriving online community centered on the video content that will work in conjunction with a well-respected news site like SWM.com already is.
