What's most impressive is this: there's another kid, in one of the far lanes, who seems to be awfully close to the kid in the center of the camera ... This isn't a case of a single star, but a heat that's packed with fast 5-year-olds ...
Chances are the other kid is 8; there are very few 6&U events (at least up here in Northern California) so this 5 year old kid will be seeded with kids up to 8 years old. 20 seconds isn't that amazing for an 8 year old (very good but not amazing) but for a 5 year old? Wow.
I posted anonymously because USC is frustrated about losing out on all the good swimmers and could benefit by making friends early with the fast 5-year-olds (hey: I'm anonymous, so who can say I'm not? Besides, note that I constructed my sentences to not exactly SAY I was WITH USC).
I might, however, be anonymous because I don't have one of those other accounts...

In fact, very few are 8/under seedings. The heat winner in the video from the far lane could have been 6, though, which can be a huge difference.
I can clear this up - I was there. This meet was held on 8/15/09 in Irvine, CA. The kid in the far lane is age 7. This was an 8/under race. Ethan (in the center of the picture) turns 6 in January. -Lyne
In any case, the kid that did all the underwater..didn't come up in the lead...he caught up after some good swimming. So he should stay under less, and swim more...

Looks like he is behind the swimmer on the other side of the pool, and catches up during the swimming.

Why is everybody posting compliments anonymously - Are you guys "scouts" or something?
