Craig Lord said in the comments section of a previous article:
Neither The Times nor The Times Online have touched this story. Nor have I been asked to file that story, nor have I offered it. It is an American story that holds no interest in Britain, nor indeed in Europe. Stop fibbing and repeating falsehoods Mr Austin

My response was a bit shrill but 100% accurate:
"They covered it Craig, in fact your name is on the byline, jackass!
In fact here is what you actually wrote for the TIMES Online"
"... The sound of empty cash registers rang out from rival manufacturers. Nike released its swimmers. Adidas stuck to its guns but had only one big success, Germany’s Britta Steffen winning the 50m and 100m freestyle. TYR, which spent three years and several million dollars developing its Tracer Rise suit, filed an antitrust lawsuit in California in May, accusing Speedo, USA Swimming and its national team head coach Mark Schubert (who said in support of the LZR that swimmers had a “black-and-white decision: the money or the medal”) of conspiring to block competition. ..."
I am going to make this comment into a post since you accused me of being a liar.

Hi Jackass. That is a passing reference in an article that is there simply to reflect the divisions within the sport of swimming that opened because of suits, from Nov 2008, written even before we had seen the 100% suits in full flow, and long, long, long before anyone requested clarifications of what I had written on 2% etc etc. I have never covered the legal case for the Times Online, nor been asked to do so. It is not a story in Europe.
You are repeating falsehoods and you deserve to be called out. You wish to perpetrate a lie. That is your purpose Mr Austin.
These are your words:
"...Neither The Times nor The Times Online have touched this story. Nor have I been asked to file that story, nor have I offered it ..."
The fact is the TIMES Online did touch it, you did file it, and I linked to it. Ipso facto, it became a European story that day.
You can try and qualify it all you want. The link to the article is up, a screen shot with your byline is there too, the readers can decide.
Will Rogers once said, "When you find yourself in a hole, stop digging." Take his advice, Craig
Dear Tony:
You are the ELLIOTT NESS of swimming. You are to be commended for taking the time to create an outlet of truth, and uncover much this crap, and bring it to light. From people on payrolls, and the like, it is apparent this deceptive behavior behind closed doors, is influencing decisions about our sport.
Mr. Lord: It's always interesting how vicious and long winded people like you really are when the little back door activities are uncovered.
Thanks again...Tony!!
Thank you, I sincerely flattered, anonymous.
Tony please don't leave out my posts when I respind directly to an accusation.
As I said...you are lying. I wrote a story about adidas threatening to become the second major player to quit swimming in the midst of suits chaos...it was Nov 2008 and the TYR case was a passing reference to the case as indicative of the divisions that suit wars had opened up in the sport. I never offered the story of the case, i have never written on the case nor has the times or times online ever covered that story.
You are a liar, straight and simple.
As for Anon, I think your status says it all...no courage, no identity, no voice
Craig, when a reporter makes a "...passing reference to a lawsuit as indicative of the divisions that [the] suit wars had opened up in the sport...", that reporter has just reported on the lawsuit. To claim otherwise doesn't wash.
Also, you're "passing remark" contained very evidence in the TYR case regarding Mark Schubert's 2% claim. Consequently, it was more than a passing remark.
My readers are sophisticated: It's all there for them to decide. Your comments, your article, your affidavit.
Craig, take a deep breath.
Wow, you two have to stop this. When your arguments begin to start with name calling you've become too emotionally involved. Tony is right when he says his readership is (for the most part) sophisticated enough to judge whether or not a reference to the TYR lawsuit in an article represents bias reporting.
Both of you have built sizable reputations on your high standards of journalistic integrity. Don't let this get so out of hand that readers start to question their continued willingness to listen to your thoughts.
Craig Lord, you have always tried so hard to be the Ann Coulter of swimming.
Don't insult Ann (chuckle).
AWW, you guys are cute.
Craig, by saying pre-puberty comments like "Hi Jackass" and "You're a lair" you have already lost credibility and fans within the swimming community, which is unfortunate because now it will reflect on the Canadian swimmers that represent and write for you.
