It will be very close. I think it could go... not 100% convinced it will. I've taken a look at the top times in the world over the last decade in this event (http://speedendurance.blogspot.com/2010/02/what-to-expect-in-2010-men-50-meter-lc.html) and before the suits its amazing how consistent the times were year on year. Reasons for it being beaten - you have a big group of elite sprinters all gunning for the time who have been faster than 21.64 before. Reason against - its not an Olympic or World Champs year and adjustments have had to be made for the new suit rules.
another french swimmer to follow is Yannick AGNEL born in 1992 , last year he made the news in france because he swam in briefs . The only time he put a suit on was at the europeen junior championship ; he wore a lzr pant on and he broke the 200 and 400 europeen junior record . his time last year was 1.47.02 the second frenc best after the french record of 1.46.54 by AMAURY LEVEUX in a full suit type lzr . Today he broke his PB in a time of 1.46.83: he is leading the ranking in the 200 free if i am not mistaking .

Awesome! I really do believe we'll see a 21.5 - or maybe a little better - this year.
There's this guy called Alex Popov who went 21.64 back in 2000 (wearing Arena briefs). Has to be the time the top sprinters are gunning for.
I bet it is broken this year
I'm with Tony: I think 21.64 will be done this year. I think there's a few guys that go 21.5, at least.

I'll be surprised to see anyone go 21.8 or faster this year.
On a similar note, if Dara tries to make another comeback, I think she'll be lucky if she comes close to her 1984 time in the 50.
i got his interview in l'equipe from today , it is not in line , i will translate it for you this week .

France is the place for swimming, it is the center of ifinity right now in the the swim universe
Thank you once again, he is so on my radar now!
taking about money , the total prize money of the NANCY MEET is 20000 euros .
It's my dream to pay a swimmer $5,000 Euros just to show up.
Agnel is an extremely exciting talent.
Add Paul Biedermann and Danila Isotov into the mix and the 200m Free at the European Champs this year will be one of the races of that meet.
