(Five world records, 63 American records which is more than any other American swimmer, male or female.)If there was a pantheon built for the world's greatest swimmers whereas each great swimmer was idolized in bronze and surrounded by marble, people like Mark Spitz, Shirley Babashoff, Michael Phelps, Janet Evans, and Jenny Thompson would be standing right along side of Tracy Ann Caulkins for here is a swimmer that owned records in every single event.
