The 'Ligue Europeenne de Natation' is having a photo contest and we are all invited to vote!

The Ligue Europeenne de Natation (LEN) is summarily the "swimming overlord" of European swimming. Their country list also includes Israel, Iceland, Turkey and more.

LEN is having a photo contest and the people that visit their site get to vote on which photo they like best. I posted my favorite above this post.

Here is the gallery: [Link]

Biedermann is holding his finger up like he already knows he's gonna win :D What a great pic.

Unfortunatly, as last year some of the photographer are cheating on the vote by reseting setting on their browser... 247 votes in less than one hour yesterday.... usually len web site is about 50/60 users per day! ... it's allways the 3 first pictures never the others...

Did you ever release your photography book with the swimmers? If so I would like to do a post on it. :-)

From among dozens of photos two have garnered nearly 70% of the vote - one being a pedestrian head shot seen thousands of times before. Clearly there are individuals who aren't keeping to the spirit of the competition. Guymedw is right - there should be a committee to select finalists. They are far too numerous (many without any artistic merit at all) for the average person to wade through.

If there was a committee, guyomedw , would win. His stuff at Flickr is amazing. :-)

My favorite was Hungarian 2 (I think): a picture showing what appears to be a relay race with one swimmer deep in the water off the dive, another racer in the water but shallower, and then a third swimmer still in the air - all three "stacked" in the frame. Apparently I'm the only one to date to pick it as their choice. I liked your choice as well Tony but didn't discover how popular it was. Do you know?
