Missy Franklin has a bigger foot-size than most men. The alpha swimmer body comes in different shapes and sizes but the most common trait is a big feet, big hands, and a strong heart.
Some could argue that you have to be tall to be a great swimmer. Franklin is six-foot-one-inch tall but that only helps you in freestyle and backstroke. In the symmetrical strokes, butterfly and breast, height does not matter. Taller swimmers have to carry more weight and shorter swimmers are pound-for-pound stronger hence it equals out.
The 17-year-old rising high school senior told NBC on Monday that her size 13 feet have been drawing attention from athletes around the Olympics. Host Michele Beadle joked that she’d put a stop to those having fun at the expense of Missy’s trotters, but Missy, in her typical bubbly demeanor, said she doesn’t mind. In fact, she’s proud of her big feet.
“I think it’s helped me so much,” she told "The Post Game" last year. “God has blessed me with an excellent swimmer’s body.”
