Sun Yang has the most symmetrical stroke of all!

Yes, Sun Yang has the most symmetrical stroke in all of swimming. Note the three breaths he takes off the wall and how his glide phase or momentum is not interrupted. He steps up his kick a bit to assist in that momentum and then goes back to a two-beat kick. He also bends his arms at the elbow and look up slightly as he swim rather than looking down.

Fantastic!

jaja.. the most amazing last 100 meters and the most increbible last 50 meters I'd seen in 1500 ever. Now that Phelps is not in 200 free of London, he can be champion.

Absolutely beautiful. He makes it look so easy. Swimming really is poetry in motion -- unless i'm in the water.

If you can swim a lap in a 50m pool without getting tired, you can swim better than 80% of the world.

This is a great video of some excellent technique. Thanks for posting, I'm glad I came across it.

I will use it as an example with my athletes. when it comes to technique, this is the goal!

I saw this and using your arm like a fulcrum will destroy the shoulder on the side you breathe on. It is not a "Perfect" stroke. It will hurt you over time.

The perfect stroke is the stroke that makes you swim the fastest. There are three or so types of forward crawl, I will post them to this comment section soon.

Surfer, I just got your point. He utilized the straight arm freestyle and look what it did to him! THank you for that video, Epic educational piece.
